About Coruja: Crafting Conscious Natural Yarns

At Coruja, we create yarns from natural fibers for those who knit with care, intention, and respect for the environment. Our journey began with a personal need that blossomed into a mission: to offer truly natural, hypoallergenic fibers free from synthetic components.

Our Story: Born from Care

In 2017, following the diagnosis of atopic dermatitis in our eldest daughter, we faced a challenge many can relate to—finding textiles gentle enough for sensitive skin. Medical advice was clear: choose natural, preferably organic fibers.

While Argentina is a leading producer of high-quality Merino wool, much of it is exported without added value. This paradox inspired Coruja to create a local, conscious, and traceable alternative—transforming raw materials into beautiful, functional, and mindful yarns.

What We Do

We develop yarns from Patagonian Merino wool and other noble fibers, designed for both hand and machine knitting. Our product lines vary in thickness, style, and purpose to meet diverse crafting needs.

We prioritize:

  • Traceability throughout the supply chain
  • Environmental care with low-impact processes
  • Animal welfare and ethical sourcing
  • Fair labor practices and regional economic development

Our yarns are reliable, sustainable, and made to accompany your knitting projects for years to come.

How We Work

We collaborate closely with cooperatives, small producers, and regional suppliers who share our commitment to responsible production. Some partners hold international certifications; others are grassroots projects making a positive social and environmental impact.

Our focus is on:

  • Animal welfare
  • Minimizing environmental footprint
  • Fair and transparent relationships across the chain

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability for us is action, not just words. We strive to reduce harmful inputs, minimize environmental impact, and create products designed for reuse, recycling, or composting.

Coruja may be a small project, but we choose to do things right—even if it means moving slower. Because knitting is more than a craft; it’s a way to choose quality, care, and connection.

Thank you for being part of a community that values materials, processes, and the shared time of creation.

Teaming with you, one stitch at a time.
